DESCRIPTION:Location: MadLab - in the Northern Quarter (36 Edge Street) -
 http://www.madlab.org.uk\nDates: 27 - 28th March\, 2010. 10-4pm\nDescripti
on: An informal meet up of people working together to make Ubuntu 10.04 th
e best release yet!\n\nThe Ubuntu Global Jam is an incredible opportunity
for the worldwide Ubuntu community to work together during the weekend of
 26th – 28th March 2010 to improve Ubuntu.\n\nWhat is a Jam?\nThe Ubuntu
Global Jam evolved out of the concept of Bug Jams\, People would come toge
ther to sit down in the same room to fix\, find and triage bugs. However b
ugs are just one facet of the challenges involved in producing an operatin
g system that strives for high quality such as Ubuntu. Thus it was expande
d to cover many topics and activities\, forming the Ubuntu Global Jam.\n\n
We will be providing training on how to use launchpad (the development sys
tem that powers Ubuntu and its community)\, how to find and report bugs\,
and give help and guidance on anything else\nyou might have problems with
on the day. You don't need to have a technical background\, *anyone* who's
used Ubuntu can contribute.\n\nThe main themes that people get involved w
ith at Jams are:\n\n* Bugs – finding\, triaging and fixing bugs.\n* Test
ing – testing the new release and reporting your feedback.\n* Upgrade
 – upgrading to Lucid from Hardy or Karmic and reporting your\nupgrade ex
perience.\n* Documentation – writing documentation about how to use Ubun
tu and how\nto join the community.\n* Translations – translating Ubuntu
and helping to make it available in\n everyone’s local language (includi
ng UK English!).\n* Packaging – work on Ubuntu packages and improve them
.\n* Other – other types of contribution such as marketing and advocacy\
 netc.\n\nSee http://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuGlobalJam for more info\n\nWhat
you need to bring:\n* A computer of some kind that can access the internet
via Ethernet or\n wifi\, you can even bring your desktop if you need to.\
n* A mug for tea!(for cups of tea)\n* A Smile and the will to make Lucid L
ynx the best Ubuntu version yet :) \n\n\nSchedule / Presentations:\n\nPres
entation (Sat AM): “Reporting Bugs: Real life guide to improving Free So

DESCRIPTION:The Ubuntu UK community and Canonical\, the commercial sponsor

there by the enthusiasm of individuals from the community who use Ubuntu f
or their personal computing and see the advantages it can bring to the wor
kplace. This event gives those advocates an opportunity to introduce their
colleagues to Ubuntu\, Canonical\, Partners\, community experts and their
fellow IT professionals. Attendees will learn how Ubuntu is being deploye

safely and effectively within their organisation.\n\nAll are welcome\, but
