This session will cover the basics of how to get started developing applications for Ubuntu Touch with QML and JavaScript. There will be brief instructions on how to install the needed SDK and where to find application framework documentation. There will also be a brief overview of the global patterns and fundamental building blocks. From there I will start writing a small demonstration application, explaining the principles of what I'm doing as I go. I'll start with building a simple unresponsive UI that will clearly demonstrate QML's declarative nature. From there I will add code to make the UI elements perform functions and indicate application state with the use of signals and property bindings. If time allows, I will briefly demo the Ubuntu Touch application that I am developing and point attendees to where they need to go to learn more about getting involved with building applications.

I will make an attempt to video tape the session and make it available afterwards. No promises, but I'm going to try.
