DESCRIPTION:When\, Where\, What\n-----------------\n\nThe Ubuntu Local Jam
and Debian Bug Squashing Party will be held at the\nPuppetLabs office in
 downtown Portland from 10am to 5:30pm on Sunday\,\nDecember 4. Again\, th
 e address is:\n\n 411 NW Park Ave\n Suite 500\n Portland\, OR 972
19\n\nMany thanks to PuppetLabs for hosting us!\n\nTo participate fully in
the event\, please bring your own computer with you.\n(laptop/netbook/tab
 let/wearable computer?)\n\n\n\nWhat are we working on?\n------------------
-----\n\nWhen considering possible topics for Ubuntu and Debian to collabo
rate on\ntoday\, one in particular stands out: multiarch.\n\n http://wiki
.debian.org/Multiarch\n\nBoth Debian and Ubuntu have multiarch support as
a goal for the next\nrelease. Unfortunately\, there are a lot of packages
that need to be changed\nto make that a reality. *Fortunately*\, we have
  converting these packages\ndown to an art!\n\n http://wiki.debian.org/Mu
ltiarch/Implementation\n\nEven if you know nothing about changing packages
\, you can still help out!\nWe've prepared a wiki page that tells you ever
ything you need to know about\nhow to modify a package.\n\n http://wiki.d
ebian.org/BuildingAPackage\n\nIf you haven't worked with source packages b
efore\, it's recommended that\nyou read this page before the Jam on Sunday
. But if you don't get to it\,\ndon't worry - we'd still like to see you!
\n\n\nIn addition to this main theme\, we have a number of other tasks lin
ed up to\nentertain our community members\, regardless of background.\n\n
 * Ubuntu SRU verifications: Brian Murray will lead us through the process\
n of verifying Stable Release Updates for Ubuntu\, helping bug fixes fro
m\n the Ubuntu developers make their way to users.\n\n * Ubuntu bitesize
d bugs: multiarch too boring? There are many small bugs\n in Ubuntu tha
 t could use your help.\n https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bugs?field.t
 ag=bitesize\n\n * Debian release-critical bugs: of course\, multiarch is n
ot the only issue\n for the upcoming Wheezy release. Let's spend some t
ime looking at those\n release-critical bugs... maybe we can even give t
he German BSP a run for\n their money this weekend :)\n http://lists.d
